In a clinical environment, a screening test is a brief assessment that takes about 15-30minutes. It is intended to detect the presence of hearing difficulties in a broad sense. Failure to pass a hearing test does not automatically mean you have a major hearing problem, and screenings may not provide a complete diagnosis. Patients who do not pass the screening are usually recommended to get a hearing test.
